Founded back in 1983, Happy Landings has a strict no-euthanasia policy. If an animal can't be rehomed, it isn't turned away. It simply stays, cared for, for as long as it needs. For some, that means a home for the rest of their life.
No matter the animal – dogs, cats, horses, goats, pigs, even ex-battery hens – the charity takes them all. They give each one food, warmth, veterinary care and, wherever possible, the chance of a new family. Alongside the rescue work, Happy Landings run boarding kennels and day care, so that looking after other people's much-loved pets helps fund a safe haven for the animals who have no one.
For years, those animals were housed in buildings put up back in the 1980s. The homes had been cared for well, but they were reaching the end of their life. So Happy Landings set out to build something better: a new home designed entirely around the comfort of the animals in it.
This is where your savings come in

With lending from Triodos, Happy Landings has built an ‘eco-kennel’: a warm, sustainable home for its rescue and boarding animals. It's powered by solar panels and heated by biomass, built from sustainable materials and well insulated to keep energy use low. Inside, there's underfloor heating for cold mornings, more room to exercise and play, and a covered outdoor run for wetter Somerset days. The charity isn't taking in more animals. It's simply giving the ones already in its care a warmer, kinder place to be.
That's what choosing where you bank can do. When you save with Triodos, your money is lent to organisations like Happy Landings: places doing good work, often for those with no voice of their own.
Your savings helped support that.
